Vancouver's got Pride! This isn't half the photos I took, but 3 hours of sitting on the side of the road is a LONG time. Also, the people handing out swag suck. Me and the four people I was with are screaming and holding out our hands, and they skip over us and give the people on either side of us. What do they think that means? The only reason I got my rainbow flag (FINALLY) was because the guy handing them out hesitated when he was giving it to the girl beside me and I grabbed it. SUCKIT.

I have some comments I guess. First off, the foreskin people's signs were incorrect. They were spreading propaganda to further their cause, which is wrong. There are studies that show a reduction in the risk of contracting HIV by 57% for circumcised men, so while it is genital mutilation (and I actually prefer foreskin), since it is a part of their coming of age rituals for young boys, it might as well be safely done. I was really disappointed in that false information.

My favourite part of all of  this is the drag queens/kings and crossdressers. Love it =D

There was a lot of screaming, and a lot of hot topless people, and some cool stuff like fans and flags and buttons =) We need to learn and pack lunch next time (didn't get to that sushi until four!) so we don't get crabby (I get so crabby). On our way back we found Philippe and his friend and had a cool ride home! PHEW!

Swatch: AquaDaisy Me Too

I want to tell you how I feel about this polish with a quote.
“Tiffany knew what the problem was immediately. She'd seen it before, at
birthday parties. Her brother was suffering from tragic sweet
deprivation. Yes, he was surrounded by sweets. But the moment he took any
sweet at all, said his sugar-addled brain, that meant he was not taking
all the rest. And there were so many sweets he'd never be able to eat
them all. It was too much to cope with. The only solution was to burst
into tears.” ― Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men (Discworld, #30)
I want to put this on everything so hard that when it comes to making a decision on what base colour to use I am paralyzed by indecision.

The solution? Skittles! Rainbow ombre! Ten different colours! WEE.

From black....

To white =D

Essence Black is Back, Joe Mocha, Essence Passion for Fashion, Essence Let's Get Lost, Julep Leah

Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine, Essence Wake Up, Julep January, WetnWild 454D, Ulta Snow White
The crowning glory: AquaDaisy Me Too!

Zomg bars

Squeeee!!!
I'm all set for the Pride Parade today =D The application was awesome. I didn't have to dig for glitter, though the bars are a little sparse, so if you specifically wanted something you'd probably have to go in for it. Now because my nail curved quite a bit, I had a tiny bit of trouble getting the bars to lay flat if they went straight across from one side to the other THROUGH NO FAULT OF THE POLISH. But yeah. This was fantastic. I am so happy. There will be sun pictures later, when I post about the parade =D

EDIT: I forgot to add the link to the shop! Get some at AquaDaisy on Etsy! =D

Retro Art 4

Last one for real this time! I found this picture in my folders somewhere.

I started out with Joe Mocha and polka-dotted with WetnWild 423C + Essence Dress For A Moment + Essence Lime Up + Julep Emmanuelle + Essence You Belong To Me and then matted it with WarPaint!

I call it dinosaur eggs, because that's what matte polka-dots remind me of for some reason. =)

I want to say hello to my new followers! Thank you for following me =) I appreciate it a lot!

And also that I think I've finally run out of backlog so the posts won't be so back to back. However, tomorrow is Pride here, so look forward to it! =D

WarPaint Black Light polish, colour blocking and a Golden Rose glitter

Well the title gives you high hopes, doesn't it?

Starting with swatches:

WarPaint A Mile Away
Alright, we'll talk about A Mile Away first. This is your generic highlighter yellow in the bottle and looks like it's going to be fantastic on the fingers. Now, while it's definitely eye-catching (my camera didn't quite get how much like a highlighter this looks), it's also very very thin. This is unfortunately about 6 coats, and I still see bald spots. The brushes in WarPaints are awesome, and application was easy and the polish did try VERY quickly, but it still would have been nice if it was thicker. I recommend putting down a base of white first so you can get a huge neon pop with one or two coats.

NEXT:
WarPaint Bad Apple
WarPaint Bad Apple was a very GOOD apple! Again, the camera isn't good at getting the neon goodness of it, and application was very very easy, and it dried faster than A Mile Away. It was also thicker, and was opaque in 2 coats. This is three to even it all out. Interestingly, both of these dry to a matte / rubbery finish!

Both Bad Apple and A Mile Away are purported to glow under black light, so if I get a chance, I'll be taking those pictures too ;)

After a day of wear, I decided I wanted them all with a base green, then taped diagonally and added A Mile Away.

What a mess~
You can see in the previous pictures that the yellow now looks lime green. This is also true in person. I used 3 coats to get it to this opacity over the green.

This was nice, but boring (and also I didn't wait long enough on my thumb so the tape roughed it up. This calls for glitter!
Golden Rose 151 (bad unintentionally muted picture)
 Holographic gold glitter? YES PLEASE!

Sorry for the blur, I was excited

Fantastic
But not fantastic ENOUGH.

Moar glittar!!
 In natural light =/
Blends the colours. Looks pretty awesome though.
If I manage to get any pictures of my nails glowing under blacklight, I'll post those!

In other news, I got my klout perk the other day! I can't wait to try it and post what I think.

Use this link to sign up for klout and get free stuff! Especially if you're a US resident. I was super jealous last month when Essie gave away a glitter polish free to US only =( Enjoy!

Richmond Night Market (New Location)

On Saturday we went to the OTHER Richmond Night Market, but first, my lunch gets honourable mention:
Lunch on Saturday!
This is the delicious bento from Sashimi Sushi in Coquitlam Center. If you're ever looking for something to fill you up, this is the way to go. It's huge, only about $8 and so good.

After this was our poutine dinner at Fritz!

ANYWAY, before this even came up, I put on some make up and we went out to the Richmond Night Market at the new location! If you'll remember, we already went to the old location =)
It's even easier to get to than Google Maps says it is!
They had lots of crossing guards and traffic control and one of them was SO BLOODY CUTE. She thanked us for waiting as she let cars through and told us all to have a good night and omg I died a little. <3

We walked around the tents selling knick-knacks a bit but then headed right for the food.
Demon dog strikes again!
On our way, we came across this gorgeousness.

Wish trees!

"I wish for a lot of boys to have sex with..."

Mathmatical Rhombus?

It was so pretty!
You gave a donation or something, and you got a card to make a wish on. Most of them were about health and happiness; it was really cool to see.

Now the food (for real this time!)

DEEP FRIED SNICKERS

My reaction: Omg what do I even do with this?

MOUTHGASM
The last bite was the best. Then we got thirsty..

So good!
I'm not sure how they made this lemonade or got it so perfect, but it was really really good. The sugar wasn't overwhelming, but it balanced out the sour of the lemon. Just so perfect. =D If you're thirsty, get one of these!

Bacon wrapped mushrooms
Admittedly, these could have been better, but Branden liked his a lot more than I liked mine, so it might just be me.

This guy gets honourable mention! xD
Eat Like A Sir and Eat All The Food!

Japanese style yam fries with Honey Garlic mustard
SO DELICIOUS. This was about when we got bored and decided to get something a little more filling before we left.

Small order of chow mein (so fresh and good)

BBQ Chicken skewers
I highly recommend this combination. The chicken skewers were amazing! I don't know what they did to them, if they used mutant chickens or what, but they were so good. And the chow mein was better than what you usually buy in Chinese places.

On our way out, we stopped to watch the fire dancers!

They were good!
We emptied out the rest of our change to them =) It's what pushed us up to about $18 each.

They deserved it!
BONUS: My pretty face ;)
On this Richmond Night Market, Branden and I both spent around $18. It's $1.50 to get in, and totally worth it. It's a bit of a bigger venue with more things (though the shops are about the same), but the food is over the top. Both Night Markets had the potato skewer things (Hurricane Potatoes / Rotatoes) but I would recommend getting them at the old one if you want to try, since they're much larger there. Both Night Markets also had the deep fried banana and mango ice cream, though this one had deep fried Snickers, Mars Bar and Cheesecake (which we didn't buy - if anyone tries the cheesecake let me know if it's worth it!!).

Just to round out this post, I want to finish up with the rest of the weekend starting on Sunday morning when we took Zorro to his agility class. It was super fun and I recommend trying agility if you want something new to do with your dog! I got a lot of good feedback from the instructor and other handlers there saying that I was a much calmer handler than Branden's dad and I kept Zorro more focused the entire time. Squee!

Zorro in the back of the truck, after a hard workout =D
That night, we played some Dungeons and Dragons Steampunk Pirate style, where I couldn't hit anything, fixed the boat by kicking it and molested Philippe (role play only unfortunately). It was fun! Overall a good weekend of not studying for my final exam on Tuesday. Wait, what?

Retro Art 3

Attempted nail art number 3, from aaaaages ago. Julep Marisa + Julep Oscar

Dabbed on Oscar, then dotted a heart with more Marisa

It was alright =)
They were super shiny.
