Swatch: ILNP Electric Carnival (T)

Hi guys!! What's up? Today I have INLP Electric Carnival swatched for you! I'm really enjoying playing with this flakie collection, they are amazingly shifty, gorgeously opaque and oh so versatile!! Damn they are the bomb! I seriously can't stop talking about how awesome they are!

So my boyfriend decided I should try putting the "green-red duochrome one over black because it'd be so cool" so I did it as a gradient over OPI Black Onyx (my fav black btw) hahaha its not the most original combo, but he did good, it looks awesome!

Unfortunately I had a combination of terrible weather and camera fails so my pictures are sub-par. Sorry!!

So the rest of these pictures are matted with Essie Matte About You!!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!!

Swatch: ILNP Brilliance over China Glaze Riveting (S)

Hi! Long time no blog. Last weekend I made excuses for myself to get all dressed up. I got this new dress from American Apparel ($28 on sale!!) and of course needed nails to match. I put down a base coat of China Glaze Riveting (still my fav polish) and added ILNP Brilliance on top in a flakie gradient. I know the bright orange underneath hides the effect a little bit but it matched fantastically with my outfit. This swatch is by no means representative of the polish, so look forward to a swatch over bright green sometime soon!

That last photo shows the shift really well (pink to green with gold in the middle) and in the bottle you can see it also goes right to blue on the edges.

CG Riveting matches Kat Von D Countess perfectly btw.

xx 'til next time!

Swatch: ILNP Supernova (T)

Hi Blaghers! Its been a while! I'm sorry, I've been on a polish hiatus to help heal my broken, sad nails. But I'm back!! I've been absolutely dying to wear these new ILNP ultrachrome flakies. They've been sitting on my makeup desk for a month just mocking me!

Ok so this isn't actually the first one I've put on, but I wasn't happy with either of the first two (not because of the polish just because of the combos I did) so I held off until I did this one!

Alright so I did 1 thick coat of supernova over two coats of OPI Viking in a Vinter Vonderland which is a dark eggplant purple creme. I'm actually mildly irritated with the crappy time I had with Viking in a Vinter Vonderland. I don't know if it just hated my base coat or what, but it was dragging and patchy and too thick. I think I'll thin it before I use it again. Its also boarder-line black the majority of the time which isn't exactly how I wanted it to look.

Supernova shifts from: green - turquiouse - pink - fushia - just a teeny bit of yellow
Mostly it stays half green half pink indoors.

Can you see the yellow on the edge of my middle and ring fingers?! So cool!

It looks like green and purple dragon scales here!!!

This is with the flash, you can really see the purple base here

Hope you guys liked my photos! I'll be doing a few from this collection for the next while I believe I bought 5 of them and Sharra and I are expecting a package from Rainbow Honey soon so we'll have some new colors from them to swatch too!!

Swatch: OPI Comet In The Sky + Review of NYC Matte Me Crazy (S)

AHH! I totally meant to post this much sooner! I've been wearing this for about a week and it is SO NICE. I put OPI Comet in the Sky over Nyx Express and the colours went together really well.

As if that wasn't enough for you, I totally wanted to try it matte. I pulled out my NYC Matte Me Crazy that I received as a badge prize from Influenster.

Soooo that wasn't quite what I wanted but it is another effect topcoat. It's more of a waxy finish, like a couple of the Orlys I have which are called "vinyl" finish (Viridian Vinyl, Purple Pleather, Old School Orange)... So I fell back on good old WarPaint.

Phew, this is the effect I wanted! So gorgeous if I do say so myself. The colour combination is freaking amazing and the glitter from Comet in the Sky is beautiful. I am super happy.

By the way, if anyone wanted to know, Kat Von D Motorhead is a perfect match...

MWAH. Have a beautiful day!

Swatch: Nyx Express (S)

Hi everyone! What the hell is "marsala"? Nyx Express is what I would call, I don't know, wine? Maroon?

Unlike my other Nyx polish experiences (See Las Vegas, Techno, Thunder) which are filed under Gorgeous Colours That Are Seven Layers Too Sheer, this one was a dream. Two to three coats of gorgeous opacity and unlike my possible dupe, Sally Hansen Cruel Heart, this one's bottle colour translates to the nail. Good gift! (I got it as a gift.)

Come back for more, this looks even better matted!

And hey, if anyone knows what marsala is, post it to Facebook for me =P

At least Christmas is over (S)

Hey everyone! I hope January has started smoothly for all of you! I have an oldie today, some crappy nail art I did around the time that I swatched OPI Germanicure. I basically just used RH Gilded Angel and RH Glittering Rapture to freehand some nail art skittles. The colours worked really well together, even if the design isn't that great heh.

The colours work REALLY well together, and it matched my lipstick (Kat Von D Vampira) so for me it was a win-win, despite the design execution.

How did your year start?
