Swatch & Bubbly Champagne NYE nail art (S)

Wow, 2014 is over. How was your year? I usually do a write up to remind myself that I accomplished something in the last year, haha, how about you?

One of my Christmas presents this year was the OPI Rollin' in Cashmere set which included Rollin' in Cashmere, Snow Globetrotter and Comet in the Sky (swatched by Tiffany! CLICKIT), all of which I am super excited about and REALLY glad I received! I didn't expect to like RiC but it is gorgeous and much more gold on the nail than the yellow it looks in the bottle. The frosted streaks also totally remind me of soft cashmere sweater. It's a very luxurious colour. I did three coats here.

This is a very beautiful colour and I think I will get lots of use out of it. It totally reminds me of bubbly champagne or white wine too! I didn't just want to throw glitter over it so to give it some movement I sponged on OPI Alpine snow near my cuticles.

I wanted a pearly white, so I topcoated it with Essie Pure Pearlfection.

And THEN I threw glitter over it ;D

Oh, it's totally gorgeous and I am happy. But, this is one of those that looks much more accurate and beautiful (and less pink lol) outside of the sunshine. It may also have been sunset.

Tell me your party plans and show me your party nails!

In conclusion:

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Swatch: ILNP Gaia (S)

I promised you some great swatches here and I deliver. Just skip my rambly and go look at the final result, seriously. Then go to ILNP.com and use some of your Christmas money (after you've been responsibly and paid your bills of course).

Okay so I started with my teal jelly from Golden Rose and did a bit of flakie jelly sandwich to give it a base.

The sandwich is shiny but nothing special.

Alright now we get into it. I did three coats of Gaia and took some photos in artificial light.

Not that great, right?

Here's where the photos get good. Do you see that blue edge?

How about now?

This polish was so hard to get good photos of, but I promise you it glows like that, completely. Just like my previous ILNPs, I kept getting distracted while washing my hands.

Did you guys get anything from her preorder, sale, or for Christmas? What are your favourites?

Christmas Nail Art!! (T&S)

Merry Christmas everyone!! Sharra and I both did some nail art for Christmas so we thought we'd do a joint post for today! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Sharra:

Alright, so for the last week or so I've been wearing ILNP Gaia (glorious swatches coming soon!) so I decided to work with it and do Christmas trees! I picked out some Christmas-y colours, beginning with Elianto Red. I also used Essence Let's Get Lost and Zoya Solange, which I know to be opaque. Dot-dot-dot~

A tree isn't a tree without some tinsel. Gosh Holographic Hero :D

It looks great from a distance! Hopefully I've warmed you up for Tiffany's classiness now, haha.

Tiffany's nail art:

Hi guys! So I kind of cheated and didn't do any freehand art on my nails. It's the holidays! I was busy! Haha. So I used some water decals from the born pretty store that are gorgeous! LOVE them! 10/10. So I used China Glaze Cranberry Splash as the base for my decals (two coats). Its a glowy, shimmery, classic red polish. I think they release a dupe of this every year for Christmas. I covered it with a coat of Enchanted Polish Djinn in a Bottle (linear holo top coat) to add a bit of extra dazzle. For the ring finger I did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and then water marbled Cranberry Splash and top coat (keeps it from looking too pink this way apparently). They got the same Djinn in a bottle to match the other fingers! This was a super duper easy mani for Christmas. And I think it ended up looking really nice and clean.

Rare shot of my right hand!

With flash to show the holo!
There you have it! What did you guys have on your nails? Link us below or show us on our Facebook Page.

Rainbow Honey Winter Nail Art Entries (S&T)

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Rainbow Honey had a contest over the last weekend or so, asking for nail art so of course we obliged, especially given Sharra's enormous RH collection.

It was a good night :D

Blah blah blah nails!!

Tiffany's Contest Entry
So I decided to do some ice skating themed nail art for my entry! I really love ice skating. I took lessons from age 5 until I was 16. Some of my favourite memories revolve around ice arenas! Anyways I always reminisce about the good old days around the holidays. :)

Alright so lets break it down by nail:

Index and Middle Fingers:
I used OPI Alpine Snow (White creme) for the base. Then I kind of water coloured Rainbow Honey Bubblebeam on top to make it look like ice. I used Rainbow Honey Skyward Bot for the swirls and snowflakes. Then topped those two nails with Enchanted Polishes Djinn in a Bottle (Holographic linear top coat) and Rainbow Honey Tessellate. I LOVED the effect Tessellate added! It really looks like ice shards!

Ring Finger:
This one got Rainbow Honey Lumine Hall as the base and then skate was Alpine Snow (white), Essie Licorice (black), RH Annual Emotion (silver blade) and Bubblebeam for a shadow effect! Then the background was coated in Djinn in a Bottle and Tessellate.

Pinky and Thumb:
I used Rainbow Honey Charaxes as the base and did a gradient with Bubblebeam and Rainbow Honey The Worst Possible Thing. Then they got snowflakes with Alpine Snow, Djinn in a Bottle and Tessellate!

That's it!! Simple really! Hahaha Happy Holidays everyone!

Sharra's Contest Entry
Alright, my turn! I started with Rainbow Honey Sapphire (two coats), and layered on ILNP Gaia (from the new flakie collection!) halfway down the nail.

And then I took OPI Alpine Snow... and MAGIC. I used a striping brush from bornprettystore for most of it and the polish brush for the rest. I took inspiration from an instagram post from piCture pOlish by Sassy Shelly (@sassyshelly129), check it out here: http://instagram.com/p/wpMh58p3q1/?modal=true

This is my favourite. It turned out really well :D Unfortunately, it peeled too soon and I did a bit of fixing up to make it last a little longer. On the nails that came off, I put Rainbow Honey Sapphire Weapon back up, with ILNP Gaia and then Glitzology Snow Day over it. I also matted it, which I should have done MUCH sooner because it looks fantastic. Oh well, got my time's worth out of this one!
