  • I was going to make this US and Canada only, but I didn't want to alienate any of my 50 followers (I lubs you guys <33) so, international giveaway, except where the law prohibits. IF the cost of shipping to you exceeds my budget, I will give you the option of helping to pay part of the shipping. I'm sorry to do it this way. I'm willing to pay about $15 of shipping, as a guideline, unless you're all international. This can't cost me $45, I'm sorry x_x;.
  • Once it leaves my hands it's out of my power.
  • You must be over the age of majority in your country/state/province to win.
  • There will be three winners, each receiving three polishes - you may choose one Del Sol and/or one Julep only, not both Del Sols/Juleps. One of each is allowed, and you'll get your third polish of the drugstore brands. Gotta spread it around, y'know?
  • You will have 72 hours to respond. Failure to do so will result in me choosing another winner.
  • If you follow me and then unfollow when it's over, you will be disqualified from future winnings. I will be paying attention.
PS:
  • I will be verifying entries, so save me some grief and please be honest.
  • This is my first time doing this, so please be nice <3 I'm trying my best =)
  • Nobody's sponsoring me, I paid for these myself (or I had awesome friends who included them in packages and I wasn't as enamoured as somebody else could be with them).

Because I don't want to alienate anybody, the only mandatory option is giving me your e-mail HOWEVER this will not be enough to win. You must ALSO be following me publicly, either by GFC or Facebook or Twitter.
    GOOD LUCK!

    Swatch: China Glaze Electrify

So I finally got around to swatching this and man, I don't even know why I put it off. Maybe because it's my last China Glaze and I love this brand. Electrify does not disappoint - it's amazing. I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

I started with one coat, which looks like this:

That's going to look amazing over a green to make a Christmas tree! 'Tis the season!

    And now two coats...
Good coverage here, but still baldy to be without underwear.

    Three coats:
Alright. Now's the pic-spam. I'm sorry but not really, I just couldn't stop. The first couple pictures are in normal awful fluorescent lighting, and the next couple will be under my bright lamp (that I usually use for pictures).

(fixed the bald spot on my ring finger)

And now I want to show you guys the amazing part of this polish. As you might have guessed by the lightning changes, I didn't do the mani at home - I actually procrastinated at school for a bit (good thing it's quick dry, right?).

This is the view on my walk home =)
And this lightning? This beautiful romantic lighting? My nails lit like fire.

    UNF.

So the part you were actually wondering about - 3 coats, quick dry, dried flat. There's a little bit of rough glitter texture but it's rather uniform - nothing you'd latch onto and pick off.

I really love this. China Glaze has yet to let me down. I say that every time, don't I...?

Nail Polish Canada Week 2 theme: gifts!

Everything I could think of for this prompt was just too Christmas-y so screw it, I just went for it.

It's week two, and I need your help again! Please take a couple seconds to vote for me <33? I'm in the drop-box now, under "The Blahg" =) The link will be at the bottom of the post as well. Don't forget week 1 voting is open until November 28th! Click here to vote for me there too! <333!!!

I started with Elmer's Glue and WarPaint Mattify (this is an experiment to see if it will prevent the wrinkling - I'll let you know how it goes!) as a base-coat, because I wanted this to come off right away - it's not even December yet! On top of that, I did Sally Hansen Ivy League, a green with a gold shimmer. I left some space by my cuticles on purpose.

After that, I used Revlon Get Reddy to put a red stripe right down the center.
Now, taking a cue from Kayono from Neues vom Kellerkind, I poked on a bow by my cuticles.

Oh em gee, they ended up SO CUTE.

Because I knew I wanted an accent of some kind, I added China Glaze Electrify to the ribbon on my ring finger =)

UNF. Nail porn! Even though this is definitely too early for Christmas, I really, really like them and I am very glad I got to do these <3 Those challenge prompts from The Nail Challenge Collaborative wouldn't have been enough to cover all the Christmas art I want to do, so at least it's out of the way.

I totally wanted to add details using my trusty Sharpie, but I couldn't bear to add black lines. I think it looks great like this - would you have preferred details by black pen?

Now that you've seen the final product, please vote for me here (again - it's week 2, I need you!!) <3 I will be forever grateful!! (And on Week 1 <3!) Thank you!!

    What do you think?

Nail Polish Canada's Nail Art Contest!

Oh dang, guys, I'm entering a contest! So from Gosh Holographic Hero I decided to add some stamping on top! I intended to use Essence Black is Back but it was too watery. Instead I picked up Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and Essence Walk On Air and stamped on a snowflake from my Red Angel Plates (RA119).

This is being posted now because the last day to enter is today!

    Check it out!

It's very simple, but I didn't want to detract from the holo goodness.

I'd really appreciate if you voted for me here!
I entered late, so to vote for me until my pic is actually up use the "Other" box. I'm going to be under Sharra/The Blahg. Thanks so much!!

     And removal:
Not an inkling of holo or glitter - SO weird!!
    =D

    Swatch: Gosh Holographic Hero

I was so excited about this one when I saw it in the store and man, was my excitement ever redoubled and tripled when I actually put it on. Holy motherf*ck, this rainbow is AMAZING.

Because I'd heard that holographics are a little difficult to work with. I put down a matte topcoat (WarPaint Mattify) onto my bare nails. You get a picture, because I thought it looked interesting haha. Excuse my skin, I just showered.

I started with two coats of HH.

It is freaking AMAZING! Because I wanted it to last longer than the 24 hours I think it advertises (on the lid, lol) I added Spectraflair Topcoat. Maybe it'll double the effect right? It also makes a GREAT topcoat, just for being so thick and smooth. Even though the holographic effect isn't the greatest - especially compared to this Gosh.

It dulled it quite a bit actually. These pictures are very forgiving. Over top of this, I added one more coat of Holographic Hero. Look at those colours!

I'm blown away. SO BLOWN AWAY. I'll just be here not doing anything for a while, k. Just staring. Whatcha think?

PS: There may not be a post tomorrow because I really don't want to remove this. I'll have to wait for it to fall off itself x_x

    Movember!

Welp, we're nearing the end of November (which means I get to do tons of Christmas themed nail art soon - SO EXCITED) but let's end off on topic here. Using that base of Julep Hayden, I used my Sharpie and LA Colors black striper to draw on some mo's ;)

I didn't quite wait long enough before starting to draw them on, so they're a little messed up. Oh well!

    First my right hand...

And then my left, which still turns out better somehow even though I'm left-handed. The ring finger is a shout out to all those guys who couldn't grow one if they tried ;) *COUGH-myboyfriend-COUGH*

I thought it was a cute idea =P How about you? Overdone? Would you have stuck to one style of 'stache?

PS: Red Velvet cupcakes and jello shooters are pretty awesome.
    Cream-cheese icing ftw
