Nail Art: Welcome to Night Vale

Hi everyone! It's been a while and I am so sorry! This has been the longest, supposedly least stressful move ever and we're still not completely in but we're finally sleeping in our new apartment! FINALLY.

Last week I also finally had some time to sit down and do my nails. I think I mentioned in my post about RH Viola that it was the perfect Welcome To Night Vale colour. Welcome to Night Vale is this fantastic podcast full of subversive humour and set in an 1984-esque Orwellian small town where lots of really strange things happen and everything might be a conspiracy. If you've got a dark sense of humour and like clever radio hosts AND a canon, biracial gay couple, you should really check it out!

Okay! So I started with RH Viola and Revlon Blackest Black.

I didn't take any step by step photos apparently, so here's the finished design without topcoat. For the eye, I used Julep Kylie which I have yet to swatch and then acrylic paint for the black and white lines.

I definitely bought a shirt when they came to do live performances way back in July and it made the perfect background for my photos =3

Just for completion, here's the other side. I ran out of room on my ring finger nail and I do NOT have the line work dexterity for writing on my thumbnail like the other hand but there you have it! On the pinky I also have RH Crystal =3

Well I wish I had better photos! I think I may switch back to my trusty blackberry. I always got good photos I was happy with with that one, even though both these cameras are 5MP.

Or maybe I'll splurge on a macro-lens =P

Goodnight Night Vale, Goodnight!

Swatch: Rainbow Honey Crystal

Round two! A winning combination!

Starting with those two coats of Rainbow Honey Viola I dabbed and stroked without much effort some RH Crystal, which was the limited edition for last month. This bottle is just FULL of glitter. Like I said, without any effort I got all these on there which includes moons, stars, hearts, diamonds and some of those clear flakies I like so much plus a pink sheen of microglitter. I am just really impressed.

And look! I got a hang of my camera!

And just to show off the holographic goodness of all this sparkle...

What do you think? One thing I realized after I had put it on was that Viola with moons and stars is perfectly Welcome To Night Vale, a fantastic podcast if you like things fucking weird and dark humour.

Any WTNV fans out there? Expect some nail art featuring Viola and Crystal soon!

Swatch: Rainbow Honey Viola

Hi all! This is a big deal. A few weeks ago I got a new iPod touch with a 5MP camera (same as the blackberry I've been using). I also found a watermarking app and so this is the first post I will be making entirely from my device. I think adding links is going to be bad here but maybe I can get the bare bones up and expedite this process to get you posts more quickly! Yay!

Alright, today I have a couple photos of A bright neon purple called Viola from the Midnight Garden collection. This first photo is one coat, followed by two. It is a one coater but I did do two just to feel better.

So bright! What do you think? I'm a sucker for purple.

(PS I am sorry for those pics ugh, I need more practice and if it doesn't work I'll go right back to my BB.)
