Christmas Nail Art!! (T&S)

Merry Christmas everyone!! Sharra and I both did some nail art for Christmas so we thought we'd do a joint post for today! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Sharra:

Alright, so for the last week or so I've been wearing ILNP Gaia (glorious swatches coming soon!) so I decided to work with it and do Christmas trees! I picked out some Christmas-y colours, beginning with Elianto Red. I also used Essence Let's Get Lost and Zoya Solange, which I know to be opaque. Dot-dot-dot~

A tree isn't a tree without some tinsel. Gosh Holographic Hero :D

It looks great from a distance! Hopefully I've warmed you up for Tiffany's classiness now, haha.

Tiffany's nail art:

Hi guys! So I kind of cheated and didn't do any freehand art on my nails. It's the holidays! I was busy! Haha. So I used some water decals from the born pretty store that are gorgeous! LOVE them! 10/10. So I used China Glaze Cranberry Splash as the base for my decals (two coats). Its a glowy, shimmery, classic red polish. I think they release a dupe of this every year for Christmas. I covered it with a coat of Enchanted Polish Djinn in a Bottle (linear holo top coat) to add a bit of extra dazzle. For the ring finger I did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and then water marbled Cranberry Splash and top coat (keeps it from looking too pink this way apparently). They got the same Djinn in a bottle to match the other fingers! This was a super duper easy mani for Christmas. And I think it ended up looking really nice and clean.

Rare shot of my right hand!

With flash to show the holo!
There you have it! What did you guys have on your nails? Link us below or show us on our Facebook Page.

Swatch: Golden Rose 151 (Teal)

Well I missed the boat on a holiday again, sorry, but I do have this cool teal jelly that was totally fun to play with.

It took only three coats to be opaque, and you could totally get away with two.

It's gorgeous, but I couldn't just leave a jelly alone. I knew that FingerPaints Santa's Magic worked for a jelly sandwich before so I tried it again.

Oh dang, it's fantastic. I really love jelly sandwiches. They're so easy to do, and they look awesome.

Happy Shamrock Day everyone!

NCC#2 Neons

So. I hate this one. I'll just let you deal with it...

I started with Golden Rose 178 and then put Rainbow Honey Hoof Wrassle and then sandwiched it with another layer of GR 178.

It's pretty thick but it's a pretty successful jelly sandwich. We're calling it nail art.

Swatch: Golden Rose 178

Golden Rose 178 is a bright orange jelly, much brighter than my camera wanted to admit.

I did two coats, one of which was thick. The second photo is colour accurate.

ORANGE :D

The PokeNail Challenge #7: Electric

Oh my gawsh, I'm actually going to post on this!

My favourite electric Pokemon is Pikachu. In fourth grade I bought this Pikachu stuffed toy. I carried it everywhere. It would sit in my desk at school and I would smile at it, I'd carry it around during breaks. It was an amazing friend.

The point is that I lurve my squeaky-chu!

That being said, we all need to grow up some day, in some ways. To represent that, I choose Raichu.

I started on yesterday's base of Rainbow Honey Bitty Love Bot. I tried to stick to polish for this. I used China Glaze Harvest Moon, Joe Fresh Mocha, Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine, and Essence Black is Back and Ulta Snow White. I used sharpie for the tail and the glitter is a combination of Golden Rose 151 and China Glaze Electrify. Behold!

Well and there you have it. There might even be more like this soon, I certainly have the time to catch up =3

Swatch: Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk

Ahhh I've been meaning to do this one forever! But first, I know you've all heard Google Reader is going kaput and I just want to direct your attention to bloglovin' on the side there >>>
I'm still figuring it out, especially how to see individual users (for future giveaways, hint hint) but we'll get there! Because of the GR thing, they've made it really simple to import your whole blog list! Meet you there <3

Anyway, moving on. Sweet Talk is really SHEER. FML. I should have reread the reviews I had drooled over. It is quite transparent, but builds up. This is good because if you're a dolt like me you can power through with enough layers BUT if you're smart, and you realize you're gonna want pastels for Easter, you could put any colour you wanted under there and still have a jelly-sandwich type application with some colour =) So, I did like 5 coats or more, but that's because I'm a goof.

As you can see, it's not quite opaque yet and I got tired of doing more layers. I also didn't want any more glitter than what you see, otherwise it'd look like China Glaze It's A Trap-eze style (which I still haven't swatched, it makes me nervous...). BUT I did remember I had this Golden Rose milky non-opaque polish. It really smoothed out the look of Sweet Talk!

I'm gonna list this post as the swatch for the Golden Rose too since this shows you pretty nicely how opaque it is without me actually having to do a million layers =P

And since it's Easter, and we're thinking cute little speckled eggs, MATTE! By Julep ;)

I realized what these reminded me of... Back to Kelly's box we go xD

Watermarker wouldn't mark it xP Gonna send the boy troubleshooting soon...
(The shiny is because lotion)
PEEPS! I still haven't opened them because they're so cute >_< (I'm a hoarder...)

Anyway, what do you think? This was a great polish to buy since it doubles for Valentine's and Easter =D

I talked a lot... your turn! What do you think? What are some similar speckly polishes you know of?

PS: In case anyone was wondering how I'm dealing with my new hair...

=D Happy Easter!
