GUEST POST: Did My Nails

Since my exams have prevented me from painting my nails for the past two weeks, I had an offer from one of my very favourite bloggers for a guest post. Oh. Migawd. It is my pleasure and honour to introduce you guys to Elizabeth from Did My Nails. When I saw what she did for little me, I squee-ed. These are easily going to show you why she's got such a following and why I feel comfortable calling her among the best of the best.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, from Did My Nails, and I'm psyched to be pinch-hitting for Sharra while she's neck deep in exams (you're almost there Sharra!). I had all these plans to do a Christmas manicure for this post, but "plans" and I don't get along very well. Instead, it's sushi nails!

This is a YouTube design, from a tutorial by Miss Rainydays. I did these once before, ages ago--way before I started taking pictures of my nails, much less contemplated a nail blog of my own--and was really excited to have another go at them. And while I still have plenty of room to improve (especially with that wonkyweird shrimp tail...I have no idea what's going on there), I think they turned out pretty cute!

A bunch of polishes went into this sushi nail art, starting with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the rice. The eyes are all dots of China Glaze Liquid Leather and OPI Alpine White. The little, blushing cheeks are Orly Pixy Stix, and I used stripers in red and black for the lips & lashes.

The futomaki on my thumb is Revlon Rain Forest, an awesomely perfect green for the nori wrapping, along with polishes from the other nails. The next three, the nigiri sushi, are tuna (maguro), shrimp (ebi), and egg (tamago). The tuna is Revlon Fire, a simple red, with Orly Pixy Stix and some tiny lines with a white Orly striper. The shrimp is Nfu.Oh 197 with OPI Alpine White and red striper polish, and the egg is Bourjois Jaune trendy with a little Rain Forest nori wrapper. The pinky, which may actually be my favourite, is a dollop of wasabi in Revlon Super Nature green.

Naturally, I'm totally craving some sushi now, only it's about a quarter to 8 in the morning. Looks like I know what I'm having for dinner tonight! Spoiler alert: there will be sake.

I think if my sushi was ever that cute, I wouldn't be able to eat it. Good thing it's not, huh? xD

Thank you, Elizabeth, SO MUCH. What did you all think? Go show her some love and tell her I sent ya! Can't have her regretting this fantabuloustic favour, can we?

I forgot to mention her giveaway! Three days left, do it up!
