Mac 'n' cheese!

How do you guys like your mac 'n' cheese? And where have you had awesome Shepherd's pie?

(Shepherd's pie is the whitest food ever haha, I had never heard of it before my 20s, and in general it is a bit bland - do you guys add anything other than salt? I feel like it needs some basil or rosemary xP)

Happy Chinese New Year!

Yesterday was Chinese New Year, and though I'm definitely not Chinese, I LOVE the lucky colours, and it's the second round of the Year of the Snake, which was the same Zodiac year under which I was born =)

I really wanted something to do and I saw this design by Kat so I picked up my Elianto Red and, over the colours from my last two posts (one, two), I swished on little snakes. Not as sparkly and place glitter but I love the colour combo <3 One day, I will do a french of this.

 And now a prop! Do you like my new Starbucks card?

So mine is not nearly as good, but I really like it anyway =) What do you think?

Swatch: Rainbow Honey Glittering Rapture

Building on yesterday's posts, I added yet more glitter! I never got into Rainbow Honey's Glittering Rapture, which looks like a dupe for Essence Gold Fever... But, well, here we have it. One coat over yesterday's glorious combination.

So I couldn't even get a decent picture of this! It looks a lot like tamed down China Glaze Electrify, but still amazeballs!

So I'm more impressed with this than I thought. I'm glad Rainbow Honey is always worth the money! (This one was part of the Holiday Collection).

Swatch: KleanColor Gold Bright and OPI GoldenEye

Sooo I'm doing these two challenges and I don't really have time to do my own things... Well, I'm gonna take a page out of Elizabeth's fantabulous book and do my own thang. I really didn't feel like having my nails purple and I didn't want to do art and then just take it off right away soooo here's some gold!

I started with KleanColor Gold Bright.

As you can see there's a bit of streakiness, but it makes it look softly brushed, I kind of like it. I did three coats, but I honestly didn't mind the VNL after one. I dunno why. It's a very beautiful colour.

Anyway, I really put this down because I wanted to use OPI Goldeneye but didn't want to do three coats because I only have a mini bottle <3

I could NOT get a good picture of this! It is absolutely gorgeous! Tomorrow's post builds on this again, so look forward to it =)

Let It Snow #10 Hot Chocolate

So obviously I started with Hot For Chocolate. For the first time I pulled out my reinforcements and decided to do a moon manicure (I think that's what it's called...) =)

I took my inspiration from RA-110 but I am not a master stamper like Katee from A Girl and Her Polish so I decided to freehand it. You can guess what's coming if you know what the stamp looks like ^^

I really REALLY liked it, but of course the first thing I did was smudge the brown on the index finger...

 And the next thing I did was ding my ring finger. Yup. So that decided it. I covered it up =) (using acrylic paints)

Do you like my mug? =)

 This is a picture pre-topcoat, because I thought the matte dots looked cool with the shiny underneath.

This might be one of my favourite designs ever! What do you think?

Swatch: Revlon Hot For Chocolate

Hi guys! Did you miss me? So the matte topcoat on Omanyte, like matte topcoat does, chipped off today and I came home and started on my challenge post for this week from The Nail Challenge Collaborative. Well for Christmas I got the perfect colour and I have actually been pretty excited to use it =D

Revlon's Hot For Chocolate is a dark, rich brown. I did two coats, and the entire time all I could think of was black forest cake...

I am definitely a fan of brown, but it looks a little weird on me. Maybe I'm just not used to dark polish anymore. Also my nails are that awkward not-short-not-long length so that might be it too.

What do you guys think? What's your favourite brown? (From what I heard it's not China Glaze Mahogany Magic xP)

The Pokemon Nail Challenge: WATER

Who's the Pokemon? (I'm just going to tell you - OMANYTE!)

Welcome back guys =D Hopefully this post tides you over for a bit because I've got two midterms coming up in the middle of next week which means a LOT of studying!

Anyway, I started with Julep Otte, and then did a tip with Julep Claire (a colour which is on sale for $5.60 right now - I recommend!).

And that is my first French Manicure ladies and gentlemen. Now onto the details...

Omanyte is very nail-shaped =) I used a brown sharpie to draw in the helical shell.

My hands are so shiny because I tried to put vaseline to prevent sharpie all around my fingers when I outlined the shell. It kinda worked... And now tentacles...

I'm happy I finally got to use my coloured sharpies. Now just the eyes, where I used black and white acrylic paint and my dotting tool.

For topcoat, I used Julep's Suede Matte one, it just seemed right. Unfortunately I didn't gloop enough and it picked up some of the blue sharpie and smudged it all over my index finger before I figured it out. Apart from that, it worked out pretty well =D Lookit them all!

The tentacles are so wiggly looking xD
