Pokemon #12: Ice

AAAHHHH A POKEMON POST. Now that the pressure's off, it seems some of the creative juices are flowing. I left the NCC before the new year since I couldn't really keep up, and hopefully this gets it all going again this year.

Anyway, ICE. I started with Essence You Belong To Me (which still looks sky blue to me!) and layered Essie Shine of the Times. When this dried up to look acceptably icy, I broke out the acrylic paint and swept a beautiful sea creature across my fingers...

I like it! It looks fine EXCEPT FOR THE HORRIBLE BLEEDING SHARPIE FACE D: Don't use Sharpie for small details, okay guys. I must be out of the loop because I tried it anyway. SIGH! I still like them though, they're cuties, even if they do look unbearably sad.

Anyway, I think the inlinkz is so old I'm really only advertising for everyone else but they deserve the attention, they did amazingly <3

The PokeNail Challenge: FIGHTING

I WILL CATCH UP I SWEAR. This one's a quickie because it didn't turn out as nice as I'd planned...

Starting with KB Shimmer Proud Peacock and striping with Julep Otte.

PokeNail Challenge #8: Ground!

I'm forcing myself to do this! As a result I feel like I copped out and did a lame job but maybe this will get me rolling. Also, sometimes simple is better, and I definitely kept it simple this time!

I decided to do good old Sandshrew. Sandshrew and Sandslash were Pokemon I tried to use but never quite worked out with me... but it's really cute. Like, really.

Starting with Zoya Solange, I waited for it to be completely dry and then used my Sharpie to draw on a brick pattern! It worked out pretty well actually! I framed them in black with the sharpie as well which I think helps this pop a little.

Not terrible, huh? Everyone else has either finished or moved on from this challenge but you should still visit all the other ground Pokemon going on in here =3

The PokeNail Challenge #6: Normal

You knew something was coming out of yesterday's swatch, didn't you?

You may also have noticed that I have been reeeeally lazy and unmotivated in my Pokemon Challenge.

THAT'S ALL GONNA CHANGE. (And you can probably guess who I'm doing already, because purple.) I originally wanted to do Tauros, because he's totally badass and I loved having one in the earlier days/games but alas, I didn't really want him on my nails after all. Wasn't feeling the browns, among other things...

That leaves a littler critter <3 Starting with Nyx Techno, I took up my acrylics and dotting tool and got to work...

 White acrylic, then red acrylic, then blue Sharpie =D
(You might notice the watermark dropped off... a bug in the program.)

I wish I had better photos!! That's my favourite and cutest Rattata card btw, and it's the Rocket's Rattata! It's in the top 1% of Rattatas! (points for you if you get that reference xD)

The Pokemon Nail Challenge Week 5: FLYING

WELL IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE DONE NAIL ART GAIZ.
Sorry. Really, really sorry <3 This one's adorable though, I promise!

I started with Zoya Godiva, and on 3 sides I poked on China Glaze Harvest Moon. I actually think this is a good stand alone look itself... Lucky you guys, 2 for 1!

So next, I poked a little Color Mates, a shimmery pink that I can't find a name for. Beaky!

Next, some red crest using China Glaze Winter Berry <3

And then, the rest of the crest in Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine...

It got a little messy there. The next steps are with my LA Colors black striper, my Ulta Snow White and a dotting tool <3

The Pokemon Nail Challenge Week 4: BUG

Hi all! I fell behind last week for obvious reasons so I'm gonna be trying to catch up on my two challenges. This week, it's bugs and man, they are bursts of colour! I wanted to do something a little different from everyone else and we have some good representation for the buggers, which is pretty impressive!

For me, I wanted something simple since I'm not up for much lately so I started with that gorgeous red, China Glaze Winter Berry. For the rest, I used acrylic paints. Because I know I'm rambling, I'm going to mostly just show you pics <3

 (Bad pics apparently... ==) PS, the next one looks like Satan's underpants xP

 And  then DOTS.

It always weirded me out that Parasect has no pupils... Anyway, check out the rest! They're fantastic! I especially love the Caterpies <3

The Pokemon Nail Challenge: WATER

Who's the Pokemon? (I'm just going to tell you - OMANYTE!)

Welcome back guys =D Hopefully this post tides you over for a bit because I've got two midterms coming up in the middle of next week which means a LOT of studying!

Anyway, I started with Julep Otte, and then did a tip with Julep Claire (a colour which is on sale for $5.60 right now - I recommend!).

And that is my first French Manicure ladies and gentlemen. Now onto the details...

Omanyte is very nail-shaped =) I used a brown sharpie to draw in the helical shell.

My hands are so shiny because I tried to put vaseline to prevent sharpie all around my fingers when I outlined the shell. It kinda worked... And now tentacles...

I'm happy I finally got to use my coloured sharpies. Now just the eyes, where I used black and white acrylic paint and my dotting tool.

For topcoat, I used Julep's Suede Matte one, it just seemed right. Unfortunately I didn't gloop enough and it picked up some of the blue sharpie and smudged it all over my index finger before I figured it out. Apart from that, it worked out pretty well =D Lookit them all!

The tentacles are so wiggly looking xD
