FiA#9 Fall Ombre

Ahhh I'm falling behind! I've also run out of posts in the last week. Haven't painted my nails due to exams and papers and the TSSU, which I am part of (TA's student union) is going on strike and blahblahblah - it's just so stressful x_x This weekend was the first day I had some downtime. My last thing to do before Thursday is catch up on my psychology class for a midterm... Anyway, enough about me!

FALL. Fall colours are red, orange, yellow, gold, all those warm colours that make you think of hot drinks and blankets. I lined 'em up and picked some out. Looking at these, I knew what I wanted to end with.

Can you guess?
From left to right: China Glaze Fast Track, KleanColor Bright Gold, Tivoli NP055, Julep Zoe and China Glaze Harvest Moon.

Surprisingly, this worked out rather well. I'm surprised because some of those colours look REAL close to each other but there's still an obvious progression. I'm getting better at this! =D

Check out the rest of the ombre/gradients the group did too!

FiA#2 Apples

I am REALLY surprised at how much I love this challenge item. Like seriously, I could not believe. I've felt like I really dropped the ball on the last couple challenge items during the summer, y'know, lost focus and inspiration etc. But this one. Oh man, the colours are just so AUTUMN. LOVING IT.

Alright, so I started with my amazing $2 Tivoli NP055. For the apples, I chose my super vampy Sally Hansen Salon Cruel Heart, and Sally Hansen Ivy League. I've actually got step by steps for you guys! (SORT OF =D)

First, I brushed on my colours. Cruel Heart only needed one brush over to be completely opaque, but Ivy League took two brushes over which was not as bad as I thought it would be. I did it similarly to the ever popular cloud manicure (you've seen it)

After that, I took Joe Mocha and my ever reliable paintbrush and just stroked in a little dash of brown. Then I picked up Nyx Las Vegas and dabbed in a leaf!

Like I said, I can't believe just how much I LOVE these. I totally love the colours and the design came out quite adorable if I do say so myself.

How do you like them apples? ;)

Swatch: Tivoli NP055

A long long time ago, a new dollar store opened by the IGA on Pinetree, and they carried a new brand, for only $2 each. I definitely had a colour hole in my collection and I saw this beautiful glass fleck orange-gold. Two bucks? Of course I bought it! Hah.

As mentioned, it's a glassfleck, but it's also a jelly, which means I used three or four coats to get full opacity. I'll let the pictures do the talking now =)

Unf! I do love me some bright gold polish! It reminds me of caramel =D

Nail wheels!!

So if you follow my Twitter, you'll know that I received my nail wheels from eBay yesterday!

Allllll my pretttiiiieesssssss~
So clearly I organized by colour, and I definitely do not have a collection like some people I follow (Here's lookin' at you Trace) but it made me really happy to swatch it all anyway =D

Red/Pink
So apparently my lighting was bad because those first three look way more similar in the photograph than they really are.
Orange!
 I love orange!
Yellow!
Soooo many yelloooows. Tivoli looks really brownish, but it's pretty burnished gold. Del Sol changes colour to pink in the sun and I will have Julep Daisy to add to this wheel sometime soon! =D
Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
KleanColor Bikini Green and WarPaint Bad Apple look really similar, but the finish on the WarPaint is not shiny and it glows under blacklight. However, I could definitely live without KCBG if anybody wants to give it a good home. Maybe if you'd follow me I'd be motivated to do a giveaway. I'm certainly making enough pageviews a day.
Bluuue
I love blue. I think it's my favourite colour now thanks to Branden's pretty eyes. Anyway, I can't believe how Blue Me Away makes Let's Get Lost look sad. Can't waaaait to wear it >_<

Purple
I also love purple. With both green and purple, I didn't have to look at the name on the back of the wheel to know what the colour/brand was. Hah.

Brown/Grey
Chiiinnaaaa Glaaaaaaaze (Dress Me Up). And Harvest Moon. Can't wait!

Black
Revlon has tiny blue microglitter you can't see, and usually Revlon requires a topcoat and really shines after getting it. It was also interesting to see that Joe Twilight and KC Chunky HB are different. I just thought Joe was a crap knockoff, but it's a flakey with more green, if not a strong reflective attribute.

So, does anything look interesting? Any close-up requests?
