Let It Snow #15: Longing for Summer

THE LAST IS NIGH. This is my last item for the Let It Snow Challenge =) Summer and nail polish makes me think of neons and my colour changers from Del Sol. Since it hasn't been a neon sort of mood, I came up with an idea to combine my Del Sols.

Starting with yesterday's Del Sol Secret Crush, I half-mooned with Del Sol Chicky.

That was easy. Then I took my trusty dotting tool and made little squigglies underneath the moons.
Sunshine =D This is me trying to get a decent photo...

 BUT THEN THE SUN!

The colour really does change! I am much more impressed with Secret Crush now than I was. It's hard to account for the colour change but it really is much more than subtle! I like my design! It looks hot, which is exactly what summer is all about, right?
Now here's the awesome part. This is my other hand. Only one half was facing the sunshine, so only half changed colour. I love it!

You can really see it in the thumb above =D

I love this! Do you guys have any other ideas for combining the Del Sol's?

Lookit everyone else! Makes me crave ice cream <3

Let It Snow #13: Winter Ombre/Gradient

It's the home stretch guys!

Starting with yesterday's combo of Orly Gogo and Cosmic Kiss, I used Joe Cement to stroke on a gradient. Because it's sheer too, trying to sponge it would be useless.

And then I matted it with Julep =3

I like it a lot! Check everyone else!

Let It Snow #14 Winter Blues

I'm breaking my promise and this is out of order. I'm sorry again ==; I'm gonna use all the excitement of my bald head to shield me from blame because I honestly really felt like having blue and I fully intended to do some gradient and it just didn't happen...

Instead, I put down Nyx Thunder.

And then Saran Wrap! I used Essence Walk On Air and You Belong To Me, and Sally Hansen Blue Me Away =) I did a couple dabs of each to get some layers and depth.

Over it I added Essie Pure Pearlfection, one of my favourite toppers (go figure).

Check everyone else out!

Let It Snow #16: St Patrick's Day!

HI! I know I'm totally out of order but I've fallen behind on EVERYTHING and I didn't want to miss this holiday. It's also Branden's auntie's birthday thing tomorrow and she would be totally disappointed if I didn't have awesome nails as usual so yeah, I'm skipping to St. Paddy's day. I'm sorry. I'll try more nail art after this, and I promise to go in order.

This is even more out of order because you're not getting this colour swatch first but, I started with China Glaze Running In Circles from the Cirque du Soleil collection. It is freaking gorgeous, and I will tell you about it later <3

After I put that down, I worked a rainbow onto my ring finger. I used Julep January, Orly Old School Orange, Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine, CG Running in Circles (of course), Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and Essence Passion for Fashion. I free-handed =)

Then of course there's gold at the end of that rainbow! Julep Oscar ftw =D

On my thumb, I did the little signature leprechaun belt! I used black acrylic paint with my dotting tool and then did some KleanColor Gold Bright for the belt buckle =)

Whole hand~

Now I took a page out of Kelly's books and wanted some glitter! I added China Glaze Make a Spectacle and it wasn't enough, so I put Essie Shine of the Times on there too and I LIKE it!

So there you go! Who's getting smashed tonight? (Not me, lols, I don't really drink...) I might be opening a whole bag of chips and a coke and scarfing that but I have a feeling there will be pizza and cake for lunch so I'll be all fatty on the couch *walrus*.

Show me your nails!!

PS: Did anybody notice my new watermark? I HAVE A SURPRISE!

My boyfriend, my wonderful, wonderful boyfriend, made me a watermarking program so this entire set of photos took 5 minutes. I want to share this all with you but in a special way. You all know I'm collecting money for BC Children's Hospital and cutting my hair to donate (18+ inches!) and shaving my head. So far I have $1380 and I want to give you some incentive to contribute. For a minimum of $1, I will email you the Google Docs link for you to download this program for yourselves. You make an image with your watermark on a white background and you can change the weight of the watermark and make it totally opaque (those of you with images) or have it like mine. Does that sound cool? (Instructions are included.)

*****This program is for PC only. Sorry Macs =(*****

Click here to donate (orange "Donate Now" button), and then shoot me an e-mail at shfarivar@gmail.com with the email you used to donate (by credit card only unfortunately).

Please, for the spirit of the fundraising, do not share this program with your friends. I know you will and I can't stop you, but at least hold off until after March 20th, when I will be getting shaved (that's 4 days, you can make it). After that it won't be so bad, just give credit where credit is due <3

What do you think? Have a lucky day!

Let It Snow #12: Winter Wonderland

Hello again everyone! I have to say I wasn't really feeling this one. Where I am, winter's pretty much over, especially if there's no snow in February. Maybe we'll get some later, but other than that, it just turns grey in Vancouver and rains. We had a couple sunny days in there, but mostly just greyness...

Starting with Golden Rose 187, I added Essie Pure Pearlfection over it. (Have I mentioned how much I love this polish??)

Sorry for the fuzzy cameraness... I couldn't get rid of it. #weird

I then picked up China Glaze Make A Spectacle (courtesy of Kelly!! SHE IS AMAZING!). This glitter is also amazing, I'm so glad I own it.

LIFE IS SO SPARKLY! At this point, I should have left it alone, but I needed to make it art SOMEHOW, and even then it wasn't that great... Okay, rambling. So the only way I enjoy snow is if I am inside with my hot chocolate and it is very much outside. I used acrylic paint ps.

So it's not my favourite, especially since my lines are not smooth AT ALL... but it does look kinda cool from a distance. My nails look so shapely... Anyway, it's supposed to be like looking out a window at the snow falling.

... Now leave me in my shame and go look at everyone else's awesome nails xP

Let It Snow #11: Valentine's Day

Hey lovelies! I hope you guys like this post, there's some story. First up:

Happy Valentine's Day <3

This time of year used to be really hard for me. When I was 10, my mom passed away. She fought leukemia for 8 years and on February 12th, 2001, she let go.That year, a rose bloomed edged in frost. In the middle of February. Every year my dad gives me two roses, one for me and one for her.

So with that sob story, I started with Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Lava and with my trusty dotting tool and some KleanColor Gold Bright. My inspiration came from this pin on Pinterest and though mine's not as realistic, I really like it.

My mom's favourite flower was a yellow rose <3

I wish I could get better photos but what do you think? I really like it <3
