NCC Stamping #3

=O I might actually finish May's challenge! I'm defs cheating today. I tried stamping on top of yesterday's glitter combination and it failed. So I remembered I have stickers! Pink stickers! I put on on my thumb and my ring finger =3 I sealed it with more Essie Pure Pearlfection.

=D I like it? Will the NCC forgive me? (Lol, I ask for a lot of concessions... so late! =_=).

They did better (they always do) - go look ^^

NCC: Stamping #2

My second attempt was a MUCH greater success =3 I am so proud!

I began with Rainbow Honey Ivy's Kiss. Over top, I chose RA-115 and stamped using Billie silver.

Because I'm terrible at placement and this stamp was a single image one instead of a whole-nail pattern, I streaked the bottom on an angle to create a sort of frenched look.

And then I matted it! My camera seemed to prefer this =P

Took a page from one of my favourite bloggers, Let Them Have Polish.

Swatch: Rainbow Honey XOXO and WarPaint Black Light

Now, beginning from yesterday's nails, I did as I always do with imperfect design execution: GLITTER.

I went out this night, with these nails and the intent was to match them to a certain dress. You'll observe the fabric below <3

I think it worked very well! The colours are there anyway =3

Since I was going out, I wanted to make some use of this black light topcoat I've had for a while. It actually hued everything a slight purple! There's an ultraviolet colouration to its edges in the bottle but I didn't think it would translate. The photo below shows the difference - Black Light polish on my thumb only. It was more noticeable in person of course. Sigh, cameras.

If you compare to yesterday, you can definitely see that these are lavender, and Joe Cement is not. It looks really nice though! Actually matches my dress pretty well.

What do you think? Do you guys have effect topcoats you like?

NCC May Stamping: IT WORKED.

This will be a two part post. The first is just to squee over stamping that worked even though it looks terrible.

The second part will show the dress I was trying to match =3

First though, let's show the stamping! I started with Joe Cement and Essie Pure Pearlfection.

And then I stamped using RA-108 and Essence Black is Back.

VICTORY.

Now leave me to my shame and go look at everyone else =P

Swatch: Glitzology My Viking Boyfriend

:D I love Glitzology. My adventure in glitter this time started with a stamping fail. I started with Orly Viridian Vinyl and then tried to stamp Pure Ice Blue Midnight.

BAH. I TRIED HARD KATEE FROM A GIRL AND HER POLISH!! With two different polishes. I think the Vaseline made the Pure Ice fail. Anyway, I gave up, and with most of my fails, I covered it in glitter.

GLITTER. Better yet even, and I didn't even realize from looking at the bottle, there's holographic HEARTS in this mix! I love My Viking Boyfriend and apparently he loves me back ;)

Now I bet some of you think this looks familiar. It totally does, on the surface. Remember Koi Pond? From a distance, these are definitely similar, minus the orange. Go figure! Apparently I have certain colour combinations I fall back on haha.

Anyway, the next post is about Cuba again and might even be slightly educational! See you soon :D

Don't forget, Stacy of Glitzology lives on Facebook and Etsy - visit and tell her I sent you!

NCC#2: Pastels

This is most definitely a nail fail and I'm just gonna show you and be done with it =P

I started with Zoya Pixie Dust Nyx and then tried to do some swirly design on it with Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. Dotting tools don't work well for painting on a textured surface, surprise >_>;

I think at this point I tried to matte-seal it with Julep topcoat, but it just lost everything cool. As you may notice on the thumb, I also started out trying to stamp and it didn't really transfer properly and only got worse from there on the other nails so I gave up.

Well, be honest, how does my disaster look? =P

Nail Polish Canada's Nail Art Contest!

Oh dang, guys, I'm entering a contest! So from Gosh Holographic Hero I decided to add some stamping on top! I intended to use Essence Black is Back but it was too watery. Instead I picked up Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and Essence Walk On Air and stamped on a snowflake from my Red Angel Plates (RA119).

This is being posted now because the last day to enter is today!

Check it out!

It's very simple, but I didn't want to detract from the holo goodness.

I'd really appreciate if you voted for me here!
I entered late, so to vote for me until my pic is actually up use the "Other" box. I'm going to be under Sharra/The Blahg. Thanks so much!!

 And removal:
Not an inkling of holo or glitter - SO weird!!

FiA #6 Autumn Leaves

Leaves! What the bloody hell am I gonna do with leaves? How do I get that much detail on my nails? At first I thought of doing a take on the comic POW! nails and then I thought better. Red Angel to the rescue =D

So I started with Tokidoki Savana and stamped first with RA-120 and Essence Wake Up

Then RA-116 with Essence Wanna Be your Sunshine

And lastly, RA-121 with Julep January

And one coat of Ulta X-dry to smooth it all out. It really made the colours pop!

And after clean up <3

If I were to do this again I would change one of two things: either I wouldn't use the yellow OR I would only use the maple leaf stamp (in all three colours PLUS probably a darker red as well)... but this is my first successful stamping experience! What do you think? Did I do alright?

Everyone else's is GORGEOUS too! This challenge item seriously brought out the colour creativity =D

TLDoS#4 Flip Flops

As I mentioned, I hate flip-flops (probably because I dislike feet) but I caved and bought some because they're just easier at the beach. This is also why I put off doing this one for so long. Because I don't like them, I have no idea what to do. But then I found these, and they're alright looking as well as having a back!

Old Navy 2/$10 from the birthday haul!
Of course I knew immediately what was in my collection that looked like this, so I started by painting a base.

Essence Break Through with Walk on Air accent nail from awhile back
Essence Walk on Air with Break Through accent nail =D
I'm really sorry about the mess. I forgot my remover the day I did these (at school lol).

On my right hand (with walk on air), I used RA119 and RA120 to stamp on as similar a design as I could find with Julep Claire and Essence You Belong to Me! Unfortunately, Claire faded out in the middle so I switched to Essence Let's Get Lost. It still didn't really show up lol, but oh well.

This one looks weird, but you can see where it's sorta like the shoe, right?

On my left, I found RA105 and stamped it on using Essence Black is Back and attempted to use Wet&Wild 454D, which didn't turn out as bad as I thought it might.

The blue turned out the best on this one and the pink didn't show up much. Dang.
After that I freehanded in the silver thong part of a flipflop using my Billie, whose name I lost.
Sorry about the change in lighting!
They didn't look this blurry when I took them =(
So there you have it. Check out everyone else too!
